We recommend using a surge protector on all electronic products. During normal, everyday usage there can be hundreds of high voltage spikes that, over time, can wear down any electronic device. When heat, humidity, or severe thunder and lightning storms are involved, the need for a surge protector is even greater. On our fax machines, a surge suppressor is recommended for the electrical line and a "CO" surge suppressor is recommended for the phone line(s). When purchasing a surge suppressor, please note that not all power strips provide surge protection. You should make sure to review the documentation and/or label associated with a power strip before using it as a surge protector.
